Former Montana Grizzly Men's Basketball star Kyle Owens passed away after a fight with cancer.

Owens first revealed the news in March 2024 when he posted to Instagram that he had been diagnosed with leukemia.

Last year, we reported that Owens was seeking a blood stem cell donor after he tweeted out that he was searching for someone through the Be A Match program, and unfortunately, his fight with cancer came to an end this week.

Kyle Owens' Basketball Career Highlights

Owens played with the Griz under Head Coach Travis DeCuire from 2019 to 2022. He played in 84 games, starting 34, averaging 6.5 points per game, with his best season coming in his sophomore campaign, averaging 10.5 per game.

Two of his seasons were spent playing in front of little to no fans during the pandemic, too.

The Calabasas, California native transferred to UC Riverside for his final two seasons as a senior and grad student, where he upped all of his averages, including points per game to 9.4 over his 2 years as a Highlander.
