The Best MLB Ballparks I've Visited, Ranked

I recently visited Oracle Park in San Francisco and Citi Field in Queens, New York, in my quest to visit all 30 MLB ballparks.

So far, I've scratched off 11 ballparks, 12 if you count a retired stadium. I've got a long way to go, but I ranked the ballparks I've been to so far.

There isn't a defined grading system to my rankings. It's going solely off of vibes, views, location, and overall experience.

Ace's MLB Ballpark Rankings So Far

12) HHH Metrodome

The former home of the Minnesota Twins: The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. It was the first MLB ballpark I ever visited, so there's a touch of nostalgia... but that's about all it had going for it.

11) Chase Field

It's in a decent location, Downtown Phoenix, but the stadium feels like a warehouse with the roof closed. I haven't been to a game with the roof open either.

10) Nationals Park

Not a bad stadium by any means. There's just not a lot that makes it special. There's a very high press box, I guess. There's a sorta-fun concourse area in left field. Other than that, it's just a fine ballpark.

9) Miller Park

I won't call it American Family Insurance Field. I just won't. I'm a Brewers fan, but Miller Park has its flaws: Not downtown, feels like a warehouse when the roof is closed. It does have plenty of positives, though, starting with an electric tailgate scene around the stadium.

8) Citi Field

Citi Field has a great look to it when you're outside. It looks cathedral-like, but the location will hurt Citi Field. It's out in the middle of Queens with parking lots and no bars or restaurants nearby.

7) T-Mobile Park

I really enjoy T-Mobile Park, especially when the roof is open. It has the most unique retractable roof, the way it rolls off the stadium.

6) Kauffman Stadium

Kauffman is on the outskirts of Kansas City, which hurt it, but I really liked Kauffman. It was sweet with some unique landmarks (the scoreboard, towers, and waterfalls).

5) Target Field

I LOVE Target Field. This is a top-5 caliber ballpark, if not for the baseball beauties to come later. It's downtown with a scenic view of the Minneapolis skyline.

4) Busch Stadium

Busch Stadium gets the edge over Target Field for having a slightly better skyline and an entertaining Ballpark Village around the stadium.

3) Coors Field

Coors Field is sensational. It's too bad they can't field a competitive baseball team. Regardless, they still sell tickets very well because of the mountains on one side and the Denver skyline on the other. Just a gorgeous ballpark.

2) Oracle Park

Oracle Park blew me away. I heard great things, and it lived up to the expectations. You won't find better views than McCovey Cove.

1) Wrigley Field

This takes some courage for me to say as a Brewers fan, but Wrigley Field is the best ballpark I've been to. You feel the history sitting there. You feel that old-timey atmosphere that makes you love baseball. Plus, Wrigleyville is a blast, and the outfield ivy gives it such a unique touch.
