It's been an extremely rough stretch for the Montana Grizzlies Men's Basketball program. Not because of play or any on-court perspective but off-the-court real-life situations.

Current Griz star Money Williams is dealing with the aftermath of losing both his parents within a year. Head Coach Travis DeCuire said on last Friday's edition of The Daily Drive With Ace Sauerwein that Money isn't the only player who's had a close loss over the last few months either.

Now, a former Grizzly player is asking for help as he battles Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Former Griz Kyle Owens is seeking a blood stem cell donor to fight his disease. Owens played for the University of Montana from 2019-2022 before transferring to his home state to round out his career at UC Riverside last season. The bright spot is Owens is receiving love and support from his schools, and from a college basketball blue blood.
