Getty Honors Montana Griz Photographer

Montana Grizzlies fans should be thankful for the marketing and content creation team at the University of Montana. We've got the best crew in the Big Sky Conference, and probably the entire FCS. I like to revisit the 2024 FCS National Championship hype video that UM put together with Griz alum J.K. Simmons narrating.

I mean, that video was so unbelievably good that I convinced myself there was no way the Griz would lose against arguably the best FCS team in 30 years, South Dakota State. They didn't, but that's how good that video was.

Now, it's UM Photographer Tommy Martino, recognized for his elite work.

Getty Images selected Martino's epic capture of the Grizzlies jogging out of the smoke-laden tunnel at Washington-Grizzly Stadium as one of their sports photographs of the week. The picture is legendary and is among the very best in the world. Tommy's snapshot is up against professional hockey, racing, rugby, the NBA, and soccer.

The Griz have made national headlines all over the place this week. They were featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays from Sunday, and there is a big push for College Gameday to visit Missoula in a couple of weeks for the Brawl of the Wild.
