Yesterday's Grizzly Football game was pretty vanilla, eh? Nothing to really write home about. Just a plain, old nothing-to-see-here Grizzly victory.

PSYCHE!

Yesterday's Griz game was wildly insane. There are two plays making national waves:

Eastern Washington's Fumbled Spike

I have never seen a play like this in my football-watching life. Eastern had a chance to win the game in the final seconds. The Eags quarterback had to spike the ball to preserve the clock for one last shot at the endzone. Unfortunately, EWU quarterback Jake Schakel fumbled the ball.

EWU invented a new way to lose a game with the fumbled spike. I still tip my cap to EWU quarterback Jake Schakel because he balled out in his first-ever start. Schakel threw for 451 yards on 63 pass attempts while also getting sacked all game long. He seems to be taking the blunder in stride, which is good to see.
