The Missoula Paddleheads are looking for more host families to help out their players this summer.

Host families house the players for the summer. The players need housing help trying to get by Pioneer Baseball League salaries in a place like Missoula.

"I think a lot of people don't understand or know that these players come out, most of them make under $2,000 a month," said host family Dave Lodwig.

"Anybody that lives in Missoula, Montana that just finding lodging and a place to live there for under $2,000 a month is tough."

Paddleheads' host family program is a rewarding experience

Lodwig's family hosts the reigning Pioneer Baseball League MVP Adam Fogel. A pretty cool guy to host, right? As good as he is on the field, Fogel made an impact on Lodwig's family.

"Our son's trying out for Sentinel Baseball... He's all stressed out on whether he's gonna make varsity or not," described Lodwig.

His teenage son wouldn't listen to reason or logic from dear ole' pops. The sky was falling for Lodwig's son because he didn't know if he would make the varsity squad.

Step aside, Dad. Here comes Pioneer Baseball League MVP Adam Fogel.

"I call up the reigning MVP of the Pioneer League. I say 'hey my son, Jackson, he's all stressed about whether he's gonna make Varsity or not,'" described Lodwig.

"Adam shoots him this long text saying 'Hey, you know,  chin up, I was on JV when I was a sophomore in high school,' and he ends this long text with 'Trust God's Plan.'

What did Lodwig find later that day? His son's baseball cap with "Trust God's Plan" written on the inside of his hat.
