Meet the Griz: Montana's New "Swiss Army Knife" Michael Wortham
Multipurpose athlete and Preseason All-American Michael Wortham turned in his Eastern Washington red and white for Montana maroon and silver this offseason.
The All-Big Sky performer will be on his third school in a college career he very much appreciates.
"It's been nothing short of a blessing," Wortham opened up about his collegiate journey. "God has blessed me with so many different paths that I didn't think I was going to take. Didn't think I was going to live this far from home."
Wortham is from North Highlands, California, where he attended Center High School in nearby Antelope. Out of high school, Wortham attended Sierra College, a junior college in Rocklin, California.
Sierra College was instrumental in kick-starting Wortham's decorated career.
"I'll start off with my head coach, Coach [Ben] Noonan. He believed in me from the start, kept my head high. There were sometimes where I was a little unconfident."
A Journey Across the West
Fast forward a few years, Wortham became a 1st Team All-Big Sky performer and Preseason FCS All-American headed into 2025. He did so by contributing in several ways on the field.

Wortham returns kicks, plays quarterback, plays receiver and is used as the prototypical "Jack of all Trades."
"At this point, I just call myself an athlete," Wortham joked. "From a resume standpoint," Wortham would classify himself as a returner, but from a "personal standpoint", he's an offensive leader.
