Griz Fans Reveal Their Favorite Games at Washington-Grizzly Stadium
I am in my 5th year working at the University of Montana and my 4th year working with Grizzly Football. I may not have the deep ties that a lot of Griz fans have, growing up going to games, but this place has still impacted me in such a positive way.
Washington-Grizzly Stadium is a big reason why I love this place so much.
It's one of the best college football atmospheres I've been in, and we get to celebrate Wa-Griz's 40th birthday on Saturday against Idaho. So I asked Griz fans and employees their favorite game they attended at Wa-Griz.
Note: I told people they can't answer with Montana vs. North Dakota State in the 2023 FCS Semifinal
Director of Communications Eric Taber and Director of Communications Jackson Wagner each responded with the win over NDSU in 2015. NDSU was led by Carson Wentz, Montana legend Brent Musburger called the game on ESPN, and it was a memorable 38-35 Griz win.
Montana Blasts the Cats in 2021
The Voice of the Griz, Riley Corcoran, said he's never heard Washington-Grizzly Stadium louder than Montana's 29-10 win over Montana State. Justin Ford returned a blocked kick that sent Wa-Griz nuclear.
Head of Marketing Nic Hallisey gave a unique response, saying Western Carolina in 2024. He mentioned that it was the day they inducted Monte into the Mascot Hall of Fame and it was the first stripe out game. It was a big win for the marketing department.
Superfan Brint Wahlberg went with Montana's 24-17 playoff victory over App State in 2009 in the snow.
Here were some fan submissions:
