Meet the Griz: Jordan Tripp Takes Over As New Grizzly Football Commentator
Meet the Griz is a series where we tell the stories of Montana Grizzlies athletes, coaches and contributors.
Meet the Griz: Former Griz #37 & New Grizzly Football Color Commentator Jordan Tripp
Scripps Sports announced last week changes to its television coverage on Saturdays this fall.
You will hear two new announcers when watching the Griz this fall. Handling the play-by-play will be Trey Bender, and joining him will be former No. 37 Jordan Tripp.
"I thought it was a really cool opportunity to interview for," Tripp said when he first presented with the television color commentating role.
"I never even thought of it before, and I gave it some thought. My wife and I talked it over and thought, 'you know what, why not?' It's a way to be connected and I love the game of football."

Television broadcasting will be a first for Tripp when the Griz square off against Central Washington at home on September 6th.
"Absolutely zero," Tripp joked about how much TV experience he has.
"Scripps Sports is going to put me through a good amount of training, and we're going through that now. It'll be much needed but I'm looking forward to the work and preparation."
He's been in big-time college football games, he's played in the NFL playoffs at hallowed Lambeau Field, but is he nervous for his TV debut over a month away?
"You know, I'd almost say it's like some butterflies," explained Tripp. "I got very familiar with that feeling... so you kind of learn how to be uncomfortable with being uncomfortable."
After his NFL career, Tripp and his family moved back to Missoula. In fact, we had to hold our conversation to 10 minutes on The Daily Drive with Ace Sauerwein because he's pulling newborn-daddy-duties.

Tripp and I discuss his NFL days, specifically his time in Titletown, USA with the Green Bay Packers.
We're looking forward to the coverage, Jordan, and good luck this fall. You're going to kill it.
