3 Montana Grizzlies Named Preseason All-Americans
This is the point in the summer when I begin to miss sports. It's the Major League Baseball All-Star break, so there isn't a ton of sports action.
Summer is nice and all, don't get me wrong, but I miss covering the Montana Grizzlies.
I also miss making extra money with Grizzly Sports, and not spending a boat load of money every weekend to visit Yellowstone, Denver, Seattle, San Diego or any other expensive trip I planned.
So this week's news of the STATS Pre-Season All-America Teams hit hard and has me yearning for the college football season.
Three Montana Grizzlies received All-American nominations.
Michael Wortham - First Team All Purpose
Perhaps the best off-season addition for Grizzly Football, Michael Wortham, was named First Team All-America.
Wortham tore it up for Eastern Washington over the last two seasons. The North Highlands, California native was responsible for 12 touchdowns over the last two seasons and was named All-Big Sky First Team (All-Purpose) last season and an All-Big Sky Second Teamer (Kick Returner).
Peyton Wing - Third Team Defense
Speaking of impact transfers, former Portland State linebacker Peyton Wing was named 2nd team All America.
Wing had a big sophomore season with the Vikings. He was named 2nd team All-Big Sky last year after leading the Vikes (I refuse to spell it 'Viks') with 93 tackles.

Eli Gillman - Third Team Offense
Wait a minute... Eli Gillman is THIRD TEAM member? How is Gillman not at least a second-team All-American?
That is absurd.
Regardless, Gillman is an All-American after back-to-back dominant years in the Grizzly backfield.
Third team... pfff.
