A Montana Olympian & A Country Music Star Amps Up Griz Win
Saturday's season opener against Central Washington was a blast and a thrilling way to kick off the season.
Montana won 42-17 with a robust second half.
Three-time Olympian and seven-time XGames medalist Maggie Voisin raised the 37 Flag and invigorated the crowd pregame.
Griz star running back Eli Gillman set a career high of 198 rushing yards and was named Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

And country music star Chase Rice was repping the Grizzlies again.

Rice, who was spotted wearing Griz gear a few weeks ago, made his first pilgrimage to Washington-Grizzly Stadium and had a great time.
Helllll of a day in Missoula. First Griz game was so much fun. Got the W, hung with friends, and handed out pizzas. Love being back in Montana💪🏼 - Rice via Instagram
First off, that's a great mustache, Mr. Rice. Secondly, glad you had fun in Missoula.

Secondly, Rice got in on all the hoopla by handing out pizzas to the student section with University of Montana President Seth Bodnar.
I'm not sure where the love for Montana comes from for Chase Rice. He was born in Florida, grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, and attended Chapel Hill.
Maybe he's doing it to promote his Missoula show on Thursday, September 18, at the Wilma.
Regardless, you look good in maroon, Chase.
