Can I offer you a free beer?

Yes?

Well, there's a kicker. You can earn a free beer if you complete the Run Wild Missoula's Last Wednesday Beer Run.

That's right. A free beer for a 3-5 mile race is a pretty good deal to me. Some of you read that and said, "Are you crazy? I have to run 3 miles to score a free beer? No thanks. I'm going to the bar and will pay the $5." The other half of the crowd read that and said, "It's only 3-5 miles? And I get a free beer at the end of it? Count me in!"

"5 Miles To Beer Thirty" - The monthly beer run is a casual fun run/walk open to all runners and all abilities. Each month a 3 and 5 mile route is offered at a different brewery location on the last Wednesday of the month. - Run Wild Missoula

If you aren't a runner and are worried about starting your running journey, all I can say is don't sweat it. It's not as daunting as it appears and the running community is welcoming. My colleague Ashley laid out the guidelines for first-time runners.

As I write this on October 30, there is a Last Wednesday Beer run tonight at Bayern Brewing. Head over to Bayern at 6 pm tonight to exercise and get a free beer. If you can't attend tonight, no problem. You'll have two more chances in 2024.

  • Wednesday, November 20 (Location to be announced later - 1 week earlier due to Thanksgiving)
  • Wednesday, December 18 (Missoula/Highlander Brewing Company - 1 week earlier due to Christmas)

If you're looking for other, longer races, Run Wild Missoula is hosting these events over the next several months:

  • Turkey Day 8K & 3K Family Fun Run (Thursday, November 28)
  • Resolution Run 5K (Wednesday, January 1)
  • Heart Throb 5K (Saturday, February 15)
