Meet the Griz: Volleyball Setter Gracie Cagle

We'll get to Cagle's opinion on pizza in a second, but let's start on the volleyball court. The Griz Volleyball offense has been firing on all cylinders over the last 6 matches, all wins. Montana is hitting .306 during the 6-match winning streak, and a big reason why is Junior Setter Gracie Cagle.

Cagle was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the Big Sky after registering 11.1 assists per set in the three wins in Terre Haute, Indiana. Cagle says the offense is on fire thanks to a robust team chemistry.

"I think the thing that helps the most is we're all best friends off the court," said Cagle. "So whenever we're playing, we feel like we can tell each other anything, even, like negative feedback, and we all know we love each other so much."

Being able to "say the real stuff," as Cagle put it, sprang the Grizzlies to 6 straight wins after a disappointing 2025 campaign.

"A big part of that is all the work we put in during the Spring, during the offseason."

Cagle is now playing full-time in the front row and has taken the setter position by the horns, leading this Grizzly attack.

But for all the success Cagle's had on the court, we need to address one thing...

Gracie Cagle does not like pizza.

"I've just never liked it," laughed Cagle. "And I've tried to like it, because I feel like it's always the thing that everyone gets at every birthday party and event. I'll eat it, but I won't like it."

Insane. Absolutely insane.

It doesn't matter what toppings there are; she just doesn't like pizza.
