Two Coaches Leaving Montana Lady Griz Staff
Coming off the best year since legendary head coach Robin Selvig retired, the Montana Lady Griz will have to restock their coaching staff after two departures.
Missoula's own departs for the beach
Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Joslyn Tinkle accepted an assistant coach role with Pepperdine University according to Skyline Sports' Twitter page.
Tinkle worked primarily with the forwards and specialized in defensive scouting for the last three years. I reached out to a source familiar with the Lady Griz and they confirmed the story.
Pepperdine hired Montana Lady Griz alum Katie Faulkner, formerly known as Katie Baker, as their women's basketball head coach in April. Faulkner made the All-Big Sky Conference team four times in her career and was the league's Player of the Year in 2013.
Missoula will have a close eye on the Waves this season with a former Lady Griz and a Missoula native on the coaching staff.
Coach Tinkle is a good friend of mine, but really we will miss Dubs the most... (I'm only half kidding).

A Second coach departs for the Midwest
After spending one season with the Lady Griz, Assistant Coach Tiffany Stubbs is headed back to the Midwest. The Iowa native took an assistant position at the defending NAIA Women's Basketball National Champions Dordt University. It was confirmed by Head Coach Brian Holsinger last week at the end-of-the-year banquet.
Along with two coaching vacancies, the Lady Griz lost three key contributors to graduation (Carmen Gfeller, Gina Marxen, Maggie Espnemiller-McGraw), two underclassmen to the transfer portal (Macey Huard, Libby Stump) and one upperclassmen stepping away to focus on graduating early (Haley Huard).
