Coach Hauck Needs To Coach A Game In Retro Coaching Gear

At last night's Grizzly Football Coaches Show live at the Den, I asked Grizzly Football Head Coach Bobby Hauck if he reflected on how loud the crowd was during the first half of the loss against UC Davis. He said he's too laser-focused to notice, which I figured he would say, but he threw me for a loop on what he said next.

"I don't really take much chance to look around, but I probably should... Maybe I'll take some good advice and do that. Just take the headphones off and maybe light up a Marlboro on the bench to see what's going on out there."

People think Coach Hauck is as stoic as they come, but I'm here to tell you the man is damn funny. His cigarette joke led into a "back in the day" conversation about coaching attire.

"We'll go back to the 70s, smoke a heater on the sideline... tight polyester pants and Virginia Slims... Whistle, big collar on the shirt, says 'coaching staff' on the breastplate, bell bottoms, plaid bell bottoms, Denny that'd be good. Big three-inch white belt and black spot belt coaches show."

Do you understand how awesome it would be to have Coach Hauck dressed up as a '70s coach? I asked him how much money it would take for him to coach a game in all that gear and he said he would do it (!) Hauck told us, live on-air, that if we can find legitimate, authentic gear he'd wear the 1970s look.

This is where I need Missoula to step up. If you have any old-school coaching gear or plaid bell bottoms, wide belts or any other 1970s piece of clothing please come forward and let Coach Hauck wear it on Senior Day VS Portland State. We're pretty late in the week so y'all need to come forward ASAP.

Or better yet, how about some of these coaches?
