Well, I won't lie to you. The Montana Grizzlies Soccer team's season came crashing to an end Friday afternoon in penalty kicks against the 5-seeded Sacramento State Hornets. It's back-to-back years the Grizzlies have been bounced from the Big Sky Tournament in their first game

But I digress.

I'm here writing this to encourage you to support this Grizzly Soccer program. Despite the loss, this team has been the epitome of consistency at the University of Montana. Led by Head Coach Chris Citowicki, they have been the standard for success, not only in the Big Sky but for all programs at UM. In his 7th season, Coach Cito has won 8 titles (regular or tournament). This year was the most impressive of all.

The Griz lost player after player after player due to injury. Former Golden Boot winner Delaney Lou-Schoor, all-world goalkeeper Ashlyyn Dvorak, defensive gurus Mia Parkhurst and Reeve Borseth and multiple other injuries that hurt the season.

And yet, they still won the regular season and came within a game of the Big Sky Championship game.

All I'm saying is to support this team because they deserve it from Missoulians. Buy tickets, watch them on ESPN+, donate, whatever you want, but support this team.

Go Griz.
