This is a tough article to write. Unfortunately, it's not the usual sports article we produce, but it's very important and somber.

Montana Griz Men's Basketball star sophomore guard Money Williams has had an incredibly difficult year. Last November, Williams lost his father Money Williams when the team was in Reno set to play the Nevada Wolfpack. Understandably, Williams missed the Wolfpack game but came back and put together an emotional performance the next time out against San Jose State. Williams scored 21 points and finished one rebound shy of a double-double.

Not even a year later, Money's mother Latoya Bailey "passed away in her sleep on October 12th, 2024." As Money puts on his family's GoFundMe page, "Imagine losing both the king and queen of your household within a year. That's the heartbreaking reality our family is facing."

Heartbreaking.

You can help Money and his family through their GoFundMe page (link attached).

In a dark tunnel, there is a light to emerge. So far, as of 1 pm on Thursday, October 17, almost 300 people have donated to support the Williams and have raised nearly 36 thousand dollars. The goal set out by Money and his family was 50 thousand dollars and at this rate, they will have little issue reaching it. The GoFundMe is just three days old and already you're seeing the support of Griz Nation and Money's friends and loved ones.

If you can help please donate to his GoFundMe listed above.
