It took almost a full week after the NFL Draft concluded, but the Montana Grizzlies and Big Sky Conference's best player finally received a nod to an NFL minicamp.

Congratulations, Alex Gubner

Last year's Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year was granted his NFL invitation last night by the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs according to Draft Guy Jimmy, director of scouting with the Hula Bowl.

It was a headscratcher why Gubner hadn't been offered a Minicamp invite. Gubner was the top prospect coming out of the Big Sky, but SWX Montana's Shaun Rainey reported Gubner had numerous offers.

In his career, Gubner played in 58 games racking up 172 tackles with 10.5 sacks and 4 interceptions, all coming his sophomore year.
