The FCS National Championship game has been held in Frisco, Texas since 2010. That's 14 games, 15 after this year's, dating back to when Eastern Washington captured the crown at the start of the decade. Prior to Frisco, the FCS Title Game was held in Chatanooga, TN from 1997 to 2009, when the Grizzlies made 4 appearances. Before that, several cities hosted including Huntington, West Virginia, Statesboro, Georgia, Tacoma, Sacramento, Wichita Falls, Texas, Charleston, South Carolina and Pocatello, Idaho.

Imagine if Pocatello was the site now. "Hey, congratulations you earned a spot in the crown jewel of FCS football. Your prize? A trip to Pocatello."

We've come a long way from Pocatello. The FCS announced the next two National Championships, after 2025, will be held in Nashville, Tennessee.

HERO Sports' Sam Herder confirmed the game would be played at Vanderbilt's FirstBank Stadium, which also underwent a facelift. As Herder pointed out, FirstBank Stadium is less than two miles from downtown Nashville.

This is not an attack on Frisco, because I've been told Frisco does a great job accommodating the FCS landscape and all its fans... But we should move the Natty to Nashville permanently.

Nashville is one of my favorite cities. Out of the "party" cities - Las Vegas, New Orleans and Nashville - I choose Nashy every day of the week and twice on Saturdays. I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend than watching football and listening to live country music on Broadway. Griz fans would tear Nashville up when we get back to the Natty.
