The Voice of the Griz Riley Corcoran enters his 9th year calling football and men's basketball for the University of Montana. His drive and dedication for Grizzly Athletics remain at the same high level, which shows through his weekly preparation.

"For me, it never shuts off," began Corcoran. "Truthfully, the moment you get up Sunday it's on your mind for the next week. It starts for me with recording the TV show on Sundays to kind of recap the week that was. You get Coach Hauck's feel of 'ok, I thought the game was great. What about you coach? Eh, it was ok," joked Corcoran.

After Sunday's reflection on last week, Mondays turn into information-gathering days.

"Mondays are questions. I am thinking of topics and questions for everything throughout the course of the week (The Daily Drive, The Grizzly Coaches Show w/Coach Hauck and the Inside The Den Podcast)."

"Tuesdays and Wednesdays are all about the spotter boards."

For those who don't know, spotter boards are a play-by-play broadcaster's cheat sheet for the games. It consists of a lot of information about the team and its players. They are a broadcaster's bible, or as Corcoran puts it, a pacifier.

Thursday is when Corcoran finalizes all of his preparation so he can relax a little bit on Friday.

"I like having everything done before I go to bed Thursday. Because I'm not a last-second guy. I do not want to push the process at all. Friday, you gotta let that brain of yours absorb the information."

Sunday: Recap
Monday: Questions & topics
Tuesday & Wednesday: Making those cheatsheets
Thursday: Complete everything
Friday: Absorption
Saturday: Gameday

That doesn't even include recording Inside The Den or hosting the Football Coaches Show live at The Den on Wednesday Nights. The next time you hear Corcoran, remember all the effort and hours that go into prepping for a 3-hour football broadcast on Saturdays.

Corcoran and I discussed last weekend's college football slate,  Montana's defensive line group and kicked off game week on The Daily Drive yesterday.
