It was a great weekend for the Montana Grizzlies Men's Basketball team. They captured two victories against Sacramento State and Portland State and celebrated their 5 seniors (Aanen Moody, Brandon Whitney, Dischon Thomas, Laulu Oke and Josh Vasquez) on Senior Night.

But now it's a former Griz hoopster making some noise from Down Under. Former Griz Josh Bannan (2020-2023), now playing for the Brisbane Bullets of Australia's National Basketball League, announced he is declaring for the NBA Draft.

According to the NBL's website, Bannan confirmed to News Corp that his "name will be going into the draft this year."

Bannan was the Bullets 2nd leading scorer during his rookie year scoring just under 12 points per game. Prior to returning home to play professionally in Australia, Bannan worked out for the Indiana Pacers out of college last Spring.

Bannan told News Corp "I had that workout (with the Pacers) and I felt like I did a great job, and I feel confident I could stick it at that level."

If Bannan can break through the NBA ceiling he would become the 7th Griz to play in the NBA. Most notably Larry Krystkowiak put together an 11-year career in the NBA with the Bulls, Lakers, Bucks, Magic, Spurs and Jazz.

Will Cherry, Lee Johnson, Michael Ray Richardson and John Stroeder are the other 5.

Best of luck to Josh... once a Griz, always a Griz.
