Even Big Sky Conference Fans May Not Know About This Conference Member

We know that the Big Sky Conference will look different this year. Sacramento State left for the MAC in football and the Big West in all the other sports. Sac State left, and a pair of Utah schools come in — Southern Utah and Utah Tech.

That leaves 11 full-time members, plus UC Davis and Cal Poly as football members.

... and Francis Marion in Men's Golf?

Sure enough, I looked up Francis Marion Men's Golf, and they play in the Big Sky Conference.

Technically. 

FM competed in the Big Sky Conference Tournament last season for the first time. Though they don't play out west often—in fact, they didn't at all last season. They played in invitationals in North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

What is Francis Marion University?

Francis Marion is a public university near Florence, South Carolina (1 hr 20 min from Myrtle Beach). Their athletic teams are the Francis Marion Patriots.

Famous alumni include some South Carolina politicians, a Miss South Carolina (Bree Boyce), and Mark Walberg.

Mark L. Walberg of Antiques Roadshow, to be precise.

Francis Marion is a Big Sky school... How about that?
