Washington-Grizzly Stadium will look different for the upcoming football season. It's not dramatically different by any means, but when you attend a game, you'll notice some extra noise on the stadium's playing surface.

Montana Knife Company signs on as on-field sponsor

Montana Knife Company is now an official partner of the Montana Grizzlies and is an on-field sponsor at Washington-Grizzly Stadium, per the University of Montana.

"We are proud and grateful to begin this partnership with Montana Knife Company," UM Athletic Director Kent Haslam said in an article on gogriz.com. "Their story is a true Montana success story, built through hard work, grit, and an entrepreneurial spirit."

The "MKC" logos will be placed at each 25-yard line opposite the Big Sky Conference logos.

"Montana has always been home for us, so partnering with the University of Montana in a bigger way felt like a natural fit," MKC Founder Josh Smith told UM. "Grizzly Athletics brings people together across the state, and we're honored to support that tradition."

The on-field sponsorship agreement runs for eight years.

Don't worry, you'll still see the giant prowing Griz logo at midfield and the 37 logos at the 37-yard line. The University is in the midst of a new sustainability program called "Sustain the Game. "FieldTurf", an artificial field product, "reuses existing infill materials during construction," making Wa-Griz more durable and reducing the carbon footprint.

It's been a big spring for MKC. The Montana company opened a large facility just outside of Missoula, and now partners with the state's flagship school.

I'm glad it's a Montana company sponsoring the field. Venues always look better with fewer advertisements, in my opinion, but I realize it's 2026 and that's impossible.

So at least it's a great, local company like MKC!
