NCAA Women’s Basketball Star Has Unique Montana Connection
Who knew that one of the best players in college basketball has a unique Montana connection?
NCAA March Madness is coming to a close with the Final Four in both the men's and women's divisions and there have been some exciting games. There have been upsets, blowouts, and some nail-biting games.
The biggest storylines have been on the women's side of the bracket with teams like South Carolina, LSU, Stanford, and Iowa.
They all have incredible players like Iowa's Caitlin Clark and LSU's Angel Reese and what will be next for them at the WNBA level, but another player is making a lot of noise.
That player would be UCONN's Paige Bueckers.
Paige Bueckers has been one of the best players in the NCAA for a few years and has brought her Huskies back to a Final Four appearance and a shot to win another National Championship.
Paige Bueckers grew up in Minnesota, but you might be surprised to learn she has a connection to Montana.
Paige Buecker's parents divorced when she was young, and her mom settled in Billings, Montana.
She might not have grown up or played basketball in Big Sky Country, but enjoyed Montana enough to hold a few training camps in the Billings area. The camps were called Buckets with Bueckers and ran for a few years in Montana and Minnesota.
Paige Bueckers is a player that can do it all. She's soft-spoken and has fun out there with her teammates.
So, if you are wondering if you should cheer for anyone during the NCAA Women's Tournament, maybe cheer for UCONN this weekend.
