Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On May 22, 2024, Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to a call to remove a person from the Walmart on Mullan Road. A Loss Prevention Officer (“LPO”) stated there was a female inside the store that had previously been trespassed.

The LPO advised they had a documented history of trespassing the female and shoplifting documentation regarding the female at both Walmart locations in Missoula. The female was identified as 36-year-old Christine Dufour.

Dufour was cited and trespassed for shoplifting from Walmart on February 17, 2024. Dufour printed her name on the trespass letter but refused to sign it. The letter indicates Dufour is trespassed from all Walmart property. The officer learned that Dufour has since returned to Walmart four times since being trespassed.

Officers arrived on the scene and reviewed Walmart’s surveillance footage. They observed Dufour select alcohol and an energy drink, along with various other items, in the store. Dufour began to drink the energy drink and put some of the items back on the shelf. Dufour then walked past all points of sale. However, she had the alcohol hidden inside her sweatshirt along with a half-empty can of the energy drink on her person.

According to court documents, Dufour has two current cases for trespass to property. Her history showed several trespasses from multiple Missoula businesses including Yokes, Walmart, Taco Bell, Magic Diamond, and Town Pump.

The officer observed six incident reports from various Missoula businesses varying in calls for trespass, theft, and persons to be removed. Three of the above incidents involved businesses not associated with Walmart.

Dufour was placed under arrest and transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility. She is currently being charged with felony burglary. On May 23, 2024, Dufour made her initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court and her bond was set at $5,000.
