Golfing in the fall in Montana is my favorite time to hit the links. It isn't too hot and there aren't as many people on the course as during the spring and summer. This fall it has been epic for golfing with the warm weather we have been having.

That is about to change with the first snow forecasts for parts of Montana and we are going to be transitioning into fall weather soon. That means that eventually it will be the end of Missoula's outdoor golf season. It's not quite time yet, but it will be happening soon. When the outdoor season eventually comes to an end, Missoula has options for golfers to play indoors, and those options are expanding.

There are indoor golfing options that have been operating for a while in Missoula.

  • The Sports Barn 2811 Latimer Street.  Their golf simulator will be starting November and running until April.
  • Golf HQ 2003 South Avenue has indoor golf leagues available.

Two new indoor golf options are going to be available this winter in Missoula.

  • Linda Vista Golf Course, 4915 Lower Miller Creek Road has recently added an indoor golf simulator that is currently up and running. The golf course normally transitions into a disc golf course during the winter.
  • SwingScape Indoor Golf, 1555 Liberty Lane is opening this December. According to their website they will be offering indoor golf 24 hours a day.

Looking ahead at the winter forecast for Montana, there may be plenty of opportunities for golfers to get their swings in and keep in golfing shape this winter.

Just like regular golf courses, you will need to contact the facilities for tee times or to reserve the simulators for you chance to continue to golf through the winter. In the meantime enjoy the outdoor golfing in Missoula, while it lasts.
