Montana ‘Trooper Cruiser’ Ranks Low in National Best-Looking Ride
I am not a big troublemaker. I am not a Saint either. I have seen the inside of a few police cruisers in my day. Not all cruisers are created equal. Some have more comfortable back seats than others. Some have a little more flair than others. A few times, I was impressed by an MHP cruiser and thought "Proof of your tax money at work."
The American Association of State Troopers recently posted a poll asking America which state has the best-looking State Trooper Cruiser. Each cruiser has its own style and flair.
Montana Highway Patrol cruisers have some aesthetically pleasing design features. Smooth lines and bold font. Plus the infamous "3-7-77" vigilante code from Montana's early justice days.
What does the "vigilante code 3-7-77" mean?
According to Montanatroopers.com
The most widely accepted theory today is that the numbers represent the dimensions of a grave: 3 feet wide, 7 feet deep, and 77 inches (6 feet 5 inches) long. The idea behind this is that if the “Road Agent” did not leave town within a given amount of time (3 hours, 7 minutes, 77 seconds), they would find themselves in such a grave.
The Montana Highway Patrol cruisers have the "vigilante code" proudly displayed on the vehicle's rear. MHP adopted the symbol to honor the first men in the Montana Territory who organized for the safety of the people.
More than 276K votes were cast during the contest. Our Facebook site had over 1.2 million views during the two weeks of voting. We had 100% participation from our state police agencies this year, as well as fun and engaging banter.

See for yourself what each state has to offer. Judging by some of the photos, Montana should be a lot higher on the list.
