Missoula Big Sky Cheer Team Needs Your Help

The Big Sky High School Cheer Team is gearing up for a Nationals trip and needs your help. Competing at their 3rd consecutive NCA Nationals, the Big Sky Cheer Team is currently fundraising for their travel expenses at the national competition in Dallas, Texas.

We had a couple of the cheerleaders, Maddie and Anna, in studio earlier this week along with Head Coach Amy Schott. Maddie laid out what's unique about the Big Sky Cheer Team.

"Your typical high school cheerleader, you're cheering at a football game or a basketball game... but the cool thing about cheering at Big Sky is we've been a competition team for just about five years now," explained Anna. "We get to go compete against other schools' cheer teams, and so it's sole based, just for the love of cheer."

The Big Sky Cheer team consists of about 25 cheerleaders and they're all traveling to Dallas, Texas to compete on the national level.

"It's a long road to get there for sure. We have some qualifying competitions that come along the way, but it's the last week of January."

The NCA High School Nationals take place January 24-26, 2025. Big Sky needs help to travel to the tournament. This is where you come in.

"We need help raising money to get us to Nationals," said Maddie with Big Sky. "It's like $1,400 per athlete and so we need a lot of money."

My math isn't the sharpest but $1,400 x 25 people is $35,000. That is, of course, if they all travel, but the point is Big Sky Cheer needs your help. One more time, here's the donation link below:
