We need an alert to go off every time a Griz athlete enters the portal or steps through the portal into Missoula. We can call it: Portal Watch.

The latest Portal Watch news cycle shows former Montana Grizzly wide receiver Sawyer Racnalli found a new home.

Wake Forest Football announced the signing on its Twitter page. Racanelli spent two seasons at Montana working back from a catastrophic knee injury during his days at the University of Washington. Racanelli hauled in 30 catches, over 400 yards and four touchdowns during his final season with Montana.

In the middle of a deep and talented wide receiver room, Racanelli was great catching the ball when given opportunities but also balled out in the run game as a blocker. If Racanelli had stayed, he would have been at the top of the WR depth chart.

Good luck, Sawyer.

The Grizzlies lost Racanelli to the ACC, but they secured a former Honorable Mention on the All-America Freshman Team.

Harper, originally from Chandler, Arizona, played three seasons at BYU. His best season was his second campaign in 2022, when College Football News named him an honorable mention freshman all-American. Harper racked up 62 tackles and 2 forced fumbles in 13 games. Harper played in just 1 game in 2023 before redshirting and appeared in 7 games last season.
