Griz Basketball Loses Key Player To Transfer Portal
It was a stellar season for the Montana Grizzlies Men's Basketball team. The Griz captured a share of the Big Sky Conference regular season championship, a Big Sky Tournament title and clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
But now, we shift to the offseason and the transfer portal.
Griz guard Malik Moore enters the portal
The first unexpected casualty of the offseason was Malik Moore announcing he'd entered the transfer portal.
Moore was great in his first, and potentially only season, with the Grizzlies. Despite entering the portal, it appears Moore is keeping the bridge back to Montana alive according to Sam Kayser with League Ready.
Moore spent two seasons at Pepperdine appearing in 64 games before transferring to Montana for 28 games in one season. Moore is originally from Ventura, California.
Others departing include Kai Johnson (Graduation), Brandon Whitney (Graduation), Austin Patterson (Graduation), Te'Jon Sawyer (Graduation) and Adam Shoff (Graduation).
As of now, the key returners are Money Williams and Joe Pridgen.
