I figured, let's keep the offseason Griz content rolling by looking at the Top 10 Montana Grizzlies in Career Rushing Yards, and how many yards Eli Gillman needs to break the record.
Gillman enters 2026 as the 4th leading rusher in Griz history with 3,677 yards. He will likely break the all-time rushing record if he stays healthy, and he'll do it early in the season if he maintains last year's pace. Eli ran for 1,540 yards a year ago, and an average of 102.7 yards per game.
It will take him just 4 games if he rushes for 102.7 YPG again, as he sits just 393 yards away from the current all-time leading rusher, Yohance Humphrey.

Not to mention, Gillman is just four touchdowns away from passing Lex Hilliard for most rushing scores all-time. It could, and should, be a record-setting finale for Eli Gillman.
Here are the top 10 in rushing yards at the University of Montana.
