A commercial promoting girls flag football aired during Super Bowl LIX last Sunday. Here's the full ad.

It was a fun commercial but ultra silly to the point where I asked "Wait a minute. Don't they want girls flag football to appear as a legitimate sport? Why did the make the commercial so cheesy?"

Maybe I'm Brad from the video.

Regardless, girls flag football is on the rise. Especially with the NFL backing it and giving it ad space during the Super Bowl which is worth millions of dollars.

The NFL says "As of today, 14 states have officially sanctioned girls flag football as a high school varsity sport with many more running pilot programs. States like Florida, California, and New York are leading the way proving that flag football is here to stay."

The 14 states are:

  1. California
  2. Nevada
  3. Arizona
  4. Colorado
  5. Alaska
  6. Hawai'i
  7. Illinois
  8. Tennessee
  9. Mississippi
  10. Alabama
  11. Georgia
  12. Florida
  13. Pennsylvania
  14. New York

It's gaining some ground in Montana, especially at Glacier High School where the Wolfpack have three-peated as state champions.

Ha. Take that, Kansas City Chiefs.

It's been televised on Montana's SWX channels, and even Washington-Grizzly Stadium has played host to a flag football clinic put on by the Atlanta Falcons.

More football is always good with me so bring it on and sanction it.
