
2025 FCS Top 25: Bison Lead, Montana Cracks Top 10
The 2025 Stats Perform FCS Top 25 was released Monday morning.
It's no surprise that the defending National Champions, North Dakota State Bison, top the poll for an 8th time since 2011, per Skyline Sports' Twitter.
Bozeman
South Dakota State and South Dakota, both from the Missouri Valley Football Conference, landed at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
Incarnate Word out of the Southland Conference slotted into No.5 to round out the top 5.
Montana Grizzlies In the Top 10
The Griz finished just 9-5 last season and were bounced by the Jackrabbits in the second round of the FCS Playoffs.
Despite a relatively disappointing season with the high standards Griz fans place on the program, Montana still found its way into the top 10 at No. 7.
Montana received 1,004 points - 11 behind No. 6 Illinois State and 66 points ahead of No. 8 UC Davis.

The Griz are tied for the third-longest active streak of appearances in the FCS Top 25 Poll with the Cats at 58 consecutive weeks.
NDSU has the longest active streak at 203 weeks.
Big Sky Conference Teams In the Top 25
MSU, Montana, and UC Davis represent the Big Sky in the top 10.
Three other teams bring up the Big Sky in the top 25.
No. 12 Idaho
No. 15 Sacramento State
No. 19 Northern Arizona
