Spartans Hold Off Bulldogs

The Butte Bulldogs would make their way to Missoula Thursday night for a special football game against the Sentinel Spartans at Missoula County Stadium.

Sentinel looking to get back into the hunt for the post season was eager to get back on the field after having last weeks game against the Flathead Braves canceled due to unfortunate circumstances in the Kalispell community. Sentinel would put themselves on the board early with a interception that was returned for a touchdown. The Spartans would add a second score to take a 14-0 lead, but Butte would not be out done and add a pair of scores on back to back drives to tie it up a seven.

The two teams would come out of the locker room to start the third quarter with the Spartans leading 28-17. The Bulldogs would score first in the third quarter with a 35 yard catch and run to pull within four of the Spartans. Within less then a minute Sentinel answered with a 52 yard catch and run to put the Spartans up 35-24. Butte would not be done offensively as they would score off a quarterback keeper to put the Bulldogs within five after a missed two point conversion.

Sentinel would cap the game off with a score with 2:52 left in the game to give themselves a 41-30 win over the Butte Bulldogs.
