Montana Soccer Signs 7

The University of Montana Lady Griz Soccer team signed seven new players to the program this week. Montana is expected to add additional members that will be announced once student-athletes are enrolled on campus over the summer or prior to the fall season.

Alexa Bentley / Forward / Campbell, Califafornia

– Will be a 2018 graduate of Westmont High School in Campbell, California
– Named second-team all-league
– Earned two varsity letters in soccer
– Played club soccer for Pleasanton Rage

Kendall Furrow / Defender / Windsor, Colorado

– Will be a 2018 graduate of Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado
– Was a four-year letter-winner and senior captain
– Helped the Lobos win city championships in 2015 and 2016 and a conference title in 2016
– Academic all-state in 2016 and 2017
– Played club soccer for Real Colorado
– Qualified for ECNL regionals in 2015 and 2016
– 2015 Surf Cup finalist

Kylie Hanson / Midfielder / Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

– Will be a 2018 graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School
– Finished her career ranked No. 5 in school history for scoring
– Lettered all four years, and in 2014 was the only freshman to make varsity
– Was named her team’s top attacker as a sophomore in 2015
– Missed her junior season (2016) due to injury
– Returned as a senior (2017) to earn team MVP honors
– Attended the Washington Region IV ODP Championship tournament twice and the Idaho State ODP once
– Played ECNL for Washington Premier in Seattle for three years, participating in several showcases
– Was named Top Draw Soccer’s Best XI in 2015
– Ranked among the top-10 players by Top Drawer Soccer in the 2016 ECNL Texas Showcase
– Won the 2017 Crossfire and Nomad tournaments while playing for the Spokane Sounders FC

Brooke Johnston / Goalkeeper / Puyallup, Washington

– Will be a 2018 graduate of Puyallup High School
– Earned second-team all-area and all-league honors as a senior in 2017, helping her team to a top-16 finish in the state of Washington
– Played club soccer for ISC Gunners G99
– Earned three Washington State Cup titles (2015-17)
– Won the 2017 San Diego Surf Cup Black Division

McKenzie Kilpatrick / Defender / Boise, Idaho

– Will be a 2018 graduate of Borah High School in Boise, Idaho
– Two-time second-team all-conference defender (2016, 2017)
– Earned three varsity letters in soccer
– Played club soccer for FC Nova
– Earned state championships in 2014 and 2017 and advanced to the ECNL national playoffs in 2015
– 2017 ECNL Regional PDP training camp participant

Ali Monroe / Midfielder / Edmonds, Washington

Is a graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School in Edmonds, Washington
– Was a two-time letter-winner in soccer, playing as both a freshman and sophomore
– Voted her team’s most valuable player as a sophomore in 2015, in addition to being a two-time captain
– Helped her team to a state title as a freshman in 2014, and a third-place finish as a sophomore in 2015
– Was named her team’s most inspirational player in 2016, a year in which she missed due to a torn ACL
– Did not play as a senior in order to prepare for college
– Graduated early and enrolled at Montana in January 2018
– Played for Crossfire Premier, earning three top-six ECNL national finishes

Zoe Transtrum / Midfielder / Boise, Idaho

– Will be a 2018 graduate of Borah High School in Boise, Idaho
– Two-time first-team all-conference selection (2016, 2017)
– Three-time SIC Student Athlete Award winner
– Earned the 2017 Knight in Shining Armor award, given to one senior student-athlete who excels in academics, athletics and citizenship
– Played club for FC Nova… Was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s list of 2016 girls to watch
– Attended the northwest ECNL PDP camp in 2017
– Won a state title in 2014
– Qualified for ECNL nationals three times (2015-17)
