This weeks edition of Friday Night Lights on Fox Sports 1450 & 92.7 KGRZ would feature a homecoming game for the second week in a row as the 0-5 Glacier Wolfpack would play the 3-2 Sentinel Spartans.
Glacier would get on the board first when Drew Turner ran the ball in from the two yard line on the Wolfpacks opening drive. Glacier stifled the Spartan offense in the following possession and blocked Brandon Morley’s punt to set themselves up at the Sentinel 13 yard line where Turner would score on a nine yard run to put the Wolfpack up 14-0. The Spartans found the end zone with 55 second left in the first quarter when Rylan Ortt connected with Nick Germer for a 70 yard pitch and catch, and then kicked a 29 yard field goal on their next drive.
Down 21-10 to start the third quarter the Spartans would have the ball first, but were shut down by the Glacier defense and went three and out, giving the ball back to the Wolfpack. Turner would receive the hand off on the first play and ran the ball 61 yards untouched for a touchdown. The next two possessions for the Spartans resulted in Ortt picks that Glacier turned into points, giving the Wolfpack a commanding lead.
Sentinel would score a touchdown late in the third and another part of the way through the fourth to try to get even with Glacier, but the back to back turnovers that resulted in Glacier points would be to much for the Spartans to overcome and Glacier would break the homecoming crowd’s heart with a 48-23 win over Sentinel.
