The Thompson Falls Blue Hawks would swoop into Missoula Friday night to play the Loyola Rams in front of the Ramily on homecoming night. Loyola would be crowned the victors with a 53-6 win on the coldest night of the season.
Things would look to favor the Rams out of the gate as they would charge down the field in two plays to get on the board. On the Blue Hawks first drive the ball would be picked off on the first play by Cooper Waters who returned it 13 yards and set the Rams up in great field position. From there the game would be one sided as Loyola would score on all six of their possessions in the first, including a second pick by Cal Gibson that returned it for a touchdown.
The second half would go by quickly as the mercy rule would take effect and the clock rolled non stop. Thompson Falls finally got on the board late in the fourth quarter when the Blue Hawks marched down the field 53 yards and scored off a one yard run by quarterback Jace Sorenson.
The Rams will hit the road next week for a 2016 Class B State Championship rematch with the Eureka Lions.
