Crosstown Tie On The Soccer Pitch

The Sentinel Spartans would make their way up South Avenue Tuesday night to play the Big Sky Eagles on the soccer field and it would turn out to be defensive match ending in a 0-0 tie.

Tuesday nights game would turn out to be a battle on the defensive side as both teams would keep the opposing side limited on their shots on goal. Both teams having made formation changes earlier in the season to increase their chances of putting the ball in the back of the net found themselves stifled by a wall of defenders on booth ends.

Sentinel Spartan shooter Cole Reimer would be held silent against Big Sky, and the Eagles heavy boot Nikolay Chinikaylo would be limited from the field. The tie game puts the western division of Class AA high school soccer in a tight race at the top with two weeks left in the regular season.

The Eagles will move on to play the Flathead Braves in Kalispell Thursday and the Sentinel Spartans will host the Glacier Wolfpack on October 3rd to make up for the September 16th game that was canceled.
